Furnace at Nippon Steel’s Kimitsu Works Damaged in Typhoon
09/11/2019 - Nippon Steel Corp. has temporarily idled a steelmaking unit at its Kimitsu Steel Works after a chimney collapsed during a typhoon on Monday, according to the Reuters news service.
“We are still investigating the damage and we don’t know how long it will take to repair the chimney and resume operations,” a company spokeswoman told Reuters.
