Dragon Steel Awards Material Handling Systems Contract to Magnetek
11/30/2007 - Magnetek will supply DC Magnet and AC Thruster overhead crane brakes for Dragon Steel Corp., Taiwan.
Dragon Steel Corp., Taiwan, has awarded a contract to Magnetek, Inc. to supply DC Magnet and AC Thruster overhead crane brakes. Valued at approximately $1 million, the order is Magnetek’s largest material handling systems order from Asia to date.
Magnetek competed against European and Asian brake suppliers for the Dragon Steel project, which includes the supply of approximately 170 factory crane brake systems.
The crane brakes scheduled for delivery and installation in 2008.
Headquartered at its systems integration center in Menomonee Falls, Wis., Magnetek specializes in digital power and motion control systems for material handling, people moving, wireless communications and energy delivery. The company also operates manufacturing plants in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mississauga, Ont., Canada, and reported revenues of $103.8 million for its fiscal year ended July 1, 2007.
