Danieli recently commissioned a new billet inspection and conditioning line at Açominas’ Ouro Branco works (MG), Brazil.

The line is made up of ultrasonic and magnetic billet inspection for detecting internal and surface defects, two grinding machines with automatic billet handling, stacking, strapping and collecting facilities.

The new line's capacity is 700,000 tonnes per year for inspection and 450,000 tonnes per year for conditioning of 76- to 200-mm low, medium and high carbon steel billets.
