Core Supplies Short Time Cycle Furnaces for Charter Steel
03/23/2006 -
March 23, 2006 — Core Furnace Systems recently commissioned four Short Time Cycle (STC) furnaces at Charter Steel’s coil processing and distribution facility in Rising Sun, Ohio.
Charter will use the new 28-tonne batch STC furnaces, which include endothermic gas generators, for spherodizing and lamellar pearlitic annealing of coiled rod and wire. In addition to the four furnaces, Core also designed and supplied the complete control and automation package, which features a Level 1 and Level 2 control system. The energy-efficient STC furnaces provide low product variability and superior temperature uniformity.
This installation has increased the number of STC furnaces at this facility to eight.
Core Furnace Systems is a leader in the North American market for design and supply of heat treatment furnaces as well as other types of industrial furnaces. Core also provides a wide range of automation and control systems as well as aftermarket technical sales and service.
