China Looks to Cut Pollution – By Reducing Steel Output
09/25/2017 - To curb pollution, China is preparing to initiate a first wave of steel production cuts that will reduce output at its largest steelmaking city by half, reports the (London) Financial Times.
According to the Financial Times, the reduction in the northeastern city of Tangshan amounts to about 7.5% of national output. Similar cuts in other major steel cities are to be announced.
