Canam Group Wins Record Order For Structural Steel Components
08/24/2015 - The bridge division of structural steel fabricator Canam Group Inc. has been awarded its largest contract ever, a CAD$225 million order to supply the superstructure for the approaches to a new Canadian bridge, the company has announced.
The 3.4-km cable-stayed Champlain Bridge will span the St. Lawrence River from the Ile des Soeurs to Brossard in Quebec. The order also includes fabrication of steel components for another bridge that is a part of the project.
Work is to begin this fall and deliveries will continue until spring 2018, the company said. Manufacturing will occur primarily at Canam's Quebec City and Laval, Que., Canada, plants as well as its plant in Claremont, N.H., USA.
