Andritz Acquires Furnace Specialist Bricmont

International technology Group Andritz has acquired Bricmont Inc. from Inductotherm Group. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
 
Andritz Bricmont, which will supply furnace systems to the aluminum and steel industries, complements the existing furnace product portfolio of the Andritz METALS business area, a leading global supplier of complete lines for the production and processing of cold-rolled carbon steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals. The METALS business area also provides turn-key furnace systems to the steel and copper industries.
 
According to Andritz, the acquisition of Bricmont will allow the company to further enlarge its product offerings in furnaces while also strengthening its presence in North America, China, and India.
 
Inductotherm Group CEO Gary Doyon noted that, “The sale of Bricmont to Andritz focuses Inductotherm on our core strengths in our growing operations in China and India”.
 
International technology Group Andritz is a leading international supplier of plants, equipment, and services for the steel industry, as well as a wide range of other applications. In addition, Andritz offers technologies for certain other sectors including automation, pumps, machinery for nonwovens and plastic films, steam boiler plants, biomass boilers and gasification plants for energy generation, flue gas cleaning plants, plants for the production of panelboards (MDF), thermal sludge utilization, and torrefaction plants. These lines consist of equipment for cold rolling, heat treatment, surface finishing, strip coating and finishing, punching and deep drawing, and for pickling acid regeneration. The business area also supplies turnkey industrial furnace systems for thermal processes, such as heat treatment of slabs and forged pieces, as well as refining furnaces for the copper industry.
 
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa., Bricmont has about 85 employees and generates annual sales of approximately 30 MEUR. The company also owns certain assets in China and India.
