AK Steel to Increase Stainless Sheet Prices

June 20, 2006 — AK Steel will increase transaction prices for all hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet and strip products, tubular-quality products and continuous mill plate products by approximately six percent.

AK Steel will achieve the price increases through a two percent reduction in the functional discount rate. The increases take affect with shipments on July 2, 2006.

The company said that its published stainless product surcharges remain in effect.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
