AK Steel will add a $157 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat-rolled carbon steel products shipped in September 2005. A $50 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products.

AK Steel bases its surcharges on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. July 2005 purchase costs were used to determine the September 2005 surcharges.
