April 14, 2006 — AK Steel will add a $190 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat rolled carbon steel products shipped in May 2006. A $215 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in the same period.

AK Steel bases its surcharges on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with March 2006 purchase costs used to determine the May 2006 surcharges.
