June 21, 2006 — AK Steel will add a $225 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in July 2006.

AK Steel notes that its surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the May 2006 purchase cost used to determine the July 2006 surcharges.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
