STUDENT PLANT TOUR

Student registrants will have a chance to tour a local streel plant! The tour will include transportation and lunch. Details about registering for the tour will be sent to registered students in late March. Only 30 spots are available.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT PROJECT PRESENTATION CONTEST
Monday, 5 May 2025 • 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. • Music City Center
Full-time undergraduate students who have completed a project and will be attending AISTech may submit an application to participate in this contest. Eight students will be selected to present their project in 15-minute increments to a panel of industry judges. Cash prizes of US$1,500 for first place, US$1,000 for second place, and US$500 for third place will be awarded. Review the guidelines.
GRADUATE STUDENT POSTER CONTEST
Monday, 5 May 2025 • 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. • Music City Center
Full-time graduate students are encouraged to enter this contest and display research related to the iron and steel industry, properties or applications. Authors must be full-time students pursuing a graduate degree and be registered to attend AISTech. Cash prizes of US$1,500 for first place, US$1,000 for second place, and US$500 for third place will be awarded. Review the guidelines.
STEEL TO STUDENTS RECRUITING RECEPTION
Monday, 5 May 2025 • 6 to 8 p.m.
Enjoy this opportunity to meet with recruiting staff from several major steel companies while networking with fellow students and enjoying great food and refreshments. Contest prizes and travel grants will be awarded at this event.
INDIVIDUAL TRAVEL GRANTS
All full-time students who register to attend AISTech before the early bird price deadline will receive a US$250 individual travel grant from the AIST Foundation. Grants will be distributed onsite at the Steel to Students Recruiting Reception on Monday, 5 May 2025.
AISTECH ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE
The university that registers the largest number of students to attend the conference will win US$500. This award will also be presented at the Steel to Students Recruiting Reception on Monday, 5 May 2025.
MATERIAL ADVANTAGE CHAPTER TRAVEL GRANT
Material Advantage chapters who have achieved ACTIVE status in the program and send groups of students to AISTech will automatically be considered for a limited number of US$500 Chapter Travel Grants.
The grants will be awarded after the conference, and funds are paid to the Material Advantage Chapter faculty advisor.
