Johann is the chief executive officer (CEO) of thyssenkrupp nucera Australia, and is engaged in the business of industrial-scale electrolysis technology. He is based in Perth, Western Australia. Rinnhofer has 30 years of experience as a CEO in the mining and metallurgical industry with a focus on plant engineering and EPC business, as well as fuel- and induction-heated industrial furnaces and in power technologies. During his career, he has been at the helm of VOEST Alpine Mining & Tunnelling Australia, Austrian Research Centers, MAERZ Industrial Furnaces, Otto Junker, SMS Elotherm and thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Australia. He has served as a member of the board of the German Mechanical Engineering Federation’s Metallurgy, Thermoprocess and Waste Technology section as well as a member of the board at the University of Technology of Graz in Austria. He is a member of the board of the German Australian Chamber of Commerce in Sydney, Australia. Rinnhofer is an honorary professor at the Department of Environmental and Energy Process Engineering, chair of Thermal Processing Technology, at the University of Leoben in Austria.
