Carl Orrling has over two decades of leadership experience in the steel industry. As head of SSAB’s Transformation Office, he leads SSAB’s investment program to enable fossil-free steelmaking at SSAB’s Nordic operations. Orrling has held numerous positions in operations, technology, and research and development and been part of several major strategic projects including SSAB’s acquisition of Rautaruukki. He started his career in the steel industry at Bethlehem Steel’s Homer Research Laboratories. He holds a master’s degree in metallurgy from Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, and a doctorate degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
