Martin Zappe is driven to lead teams through complex challenges, enabling a fossil-free future and transformation. He began his 30+ years of professional life as a mechanic in the automotive industry. After graduating as a civil/structural engineer, Zappe went on to gain a wealth of experience within a wide variety of European construction projects in different roles. He joined the offshore wind industry in 2011 and took on roles as chief executive officer/chief technology officer on both the investor and later the supplier side. With significant successful contributions to both megaprojects and transformation, Zappe decided to join the steel industry, taking the lead on the transformation program of Salzgitter AG called SALCOS (Salzgitter Low-CO2 Steelmaking) in 2021.
