AK Steel to Increase Carbon Steel Prices

Feb. 1, 2007 — AK Steel announced that it will increase spot market prices for its carbon steel products by $30 per ton. The increase takes effect for all new orders accepted for shipment on March 1, 2007 and later.

AK Steel said that the price increase is in response to increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as the need to recover higher costs for steelmaking inputs.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
